The Protomotive Story

Todd and Cynthia met in West Palm Beach, FL where they worked together building vintage racing Porsches, Turbo Street Porsches and just plain fun Porsches. In the early 90’s they moved to Northern California to continue working in the Porsche industry. Together they built a shop right at home in their barn! They outfitted their 25×75′ slab with areas for installing, machining, engine work, and a dyno for testing, thus Protomotive was born!

Todd and Cynthia set out to create a product that would define the Future of Protomotive. An amazing client with his Porsche 935 DP Got the first taste. A giant Intercooler fed the 3.5L twin plug, single turbo setup that swept records at multiple tracks. 650 horsepower and a client that was proud to show it off made a huge impact!.

Two years later, Protomotive moved to Southern California, where their two children Matthew and Samantha were born. Protomotive is currently located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas where their son Matthew and daughter, Samantha work with Protomotive.

Protomotive Pups

Dogs are an essential part of our staff at Protomotive. While they do in fact keep our shop free of pests, they also bring a lot of personality to the workplace. The number is ever-changing, but there are often around 8 dogs in the shop! Although we love all our pups, Keenan, pictured first, is Todd’s personal assistant and break enforcer.

Send us pictures of your shop dogs to be featured on our Instagram story!
