Xona XR770 turbos for 993/996/997.1 Turbo
Now updated to XR800! Looking for a 700whp bolt-on solution? Here you go! Xona XR770 Turbos for Porsche are a bolt on for 993, 996 or 997.1 turbos for an amazing improvement in power! These flow right at 38.5lbs each at the compressor. Good for 770hp at the crank, or 700whp level (dynapack and dynojet ratings). Even on pump fuel as a nice upgrade for k16s or oem k24’s 600 to 700hp are totally possible! Maybe overkill, until you consider turbos don’t like to run at their limits, but instead prefer to operate in the highest efficiency islands.
Super Boost response. As good or better than oem vgt turbos on 997.1TT and k16s on 993/996t. A perfect street upgrade for pump fuel cars. Due to the smaller turbine, there’s a bit of egr effect going on with higher backpressures. Oddly enough, this is an advantage on pump gas cars to help reduce tendency to knock. Many times, these will outperform larger turbos on pump gas due to this crazy effect. So who can complain about amazing response, super efficiency and great power on pump gas?
High quality alloys are used in the manufacturing process. The Xona series of turbos use only the highest quality materials. As opposed to the oem and Garrett turbos that run cast or ductile iron center sections, these are all stainless and inconel. Dual turbine seals are also run for the lowest possibility of oil leakage out the turbine side.

I've worked with a bunch of mechanics, tuners, engine builders across multiple Porsches over multiple decades... and Todd has been the most helpful and knowledgeable of the bunch. And this has even been true while working with him remotely! (I'm in CA and he's in AR.) Just by looking at my logs and hearing about my engine rebuild, he's been able to diagnose stuff that in-person mechanics have not been able to. For example, Todd was the only person looking at my car to suggest a problem with a BRV could explain some of the weird behavior... following his advice, I dug in myself... lo and behold, torn BRV diaphragm on bank 1! Wow! Further, Todd has the most experience tuning these cars of any tuner I've worked with. Tune is absolutely solid and safe. Very very confident in his work!!! Absolute strongest possible recommendation!!

Adam McGregor2023-04-05I don’t think there is a better shop to shop entrust your Porsche to then Protomotive and the Knighton’s. Just search there name with 993 and you can start to get an idea of their storied history of building monster but reliable 911 Turbos! I have over 12 years and 30k miles (street, autox & track) on the Protomotive set up on my 997tt and it has never skipped a beat!
