Yes, these are cool! But they’re also totally amazing!
The GT3 intake on a 996 and 997.1 Turbo take advantage of Porsche’s design excellence in the GT3, but applying it to turbo applications instead. These intakes increase the throttle response, boost response, low end torque and high end power all at the same time. We’ve never found a manifold better. Really…
If we overlay all of the torque peaks of the 996 turbo, 997.1 Turbo, GT2 and other intakes, the GT3 beats them all, everywhere… So, why not have it all?
Here’s a GT3 intake on similar builds vs. a 997.1 TT oem intake at the same boost. You have to look hard for the little dotted line. Actually similar peak torque and only slightly less power, but check out the range difference of the GT3 intake before and after!
And here’s another dyno comparison of a GT3 intake vs. 996TT. If you look at the data on the right I1MAP is 27.36 vs. 27.37psi. that’s pretty darned close. But the power and torque difference is NOT close!
The center plenums are custom fabbed for either plug/play applications on 996 turbo and 997.1 Turbo or let us know what you want or need. custom bungs, AN fittings, Ports, colors, throttle bodies, whatever. We can make it happen.
Lower runners available for stock ports, GT3 intake ports and by custom order 12 injector setups. 82mm GT3 throttle body is standard. 996tt/997.1TT fuel rails and injectors do work with this application. manifold straps supplied for high boost applications.
One of our great customers called this “the single best mod I’ve done to my 997.1TT”… And yes, he did a LOT of mods!

Todd seems to always have the knowledge to put together the best combination of parts to make any model Porsche not only go fast or handle better, but do it reliably. He always answers the phone. Taylor Berg-Kirkpatrick2024-01-04Todd has got to be the world's expert in forced induction Mezger Porsche engines. I've worked with a bunch of mechanics, tuners, engine builders across multiple Porsches over multiple decades... and Todd has been the most helpful and knowledgeable of the bunch. And this has even been true while working with him remotely! (I'm in CA and he's in AR.) Just by looking at my logs and hearing about my engine rebuild, he's been able to diagnose stuff that in-person mechanics have not been able to. For example, Todd was the only person looking at my car to suggest a problem with a BRV could explain some of the weird behavior... following his advice, I dug in myself... lo and behold, torn BRV diaphragm on bank 1! Wow! Further, Todd has the most experience tuning these cars of any tuner I've worked with. Tune is absolutely solid and safe. Very very confident in his work!!! Absolute strongest possible recommendation!!

Adam McGregor2023-04-05I don’t think there is a better shop to shop entrust your Porsche to then Protomotive and the Knighton’s. Just search there name with 993 and you can start to get an idea of their storied history of building monster but reliable 911 Turbos! I have over 12 years and 30k miles (street, autox & track) on the Protomotive set up on my 997tt and it has never skipped a beat!
