When you run radically different programs, this Dual Memory Switch for 996t and 997t is just the ticket.
This allows two completely independent memories to be installed in your ecu, and both are available at the flip of a switch.
Need to have a totally stock program in your ecu at a moments notice, but a performance tune at the flip of a switch? Wanting pump/pump+meth tunes? Pump/E85 tuning? Pump/Race gas? Low boost/high boost programs (without external control)? How about a valet mode that could limit the rpms to 3000 AND the top speed to 10mph 🙂 The options are only limited by your imagination 🙂
These can be flashed right through. Simply flip the switch to your desired setting and upload your tune. Then flip the switch to the other setting and upload that tune.
Amazingly, as long as you run the same software versions, these can be flipped live. No need to shut down to change settings.
These can be used with external boost controllers as well.
On 997.1TT this ends up with 4 programs if you have sport mode since each chip will have normal / sport mode. So you can have pump normal, pump sport, E85 normal and E85 sport 🙂
The microswitch can be routed early anywhere in the car. We’ve put them in the ash tray, glove box, under the seat, between the subwoofer and rear deck pads, etc.
Note: this is a hardware modification to your existing ecu. The ecu must be shipped to Protomotive for this to be installed. While here, we can prepare the ecu with both tunes for plug/play installs.

I've worked with a bunch of mechanics, tuners, engine builders across multiple Porsches over multiple decades... and Todd has been the most helpful and knowledgeable of the bunch. And this has even been true while working with him remotely! (I'm in CA and he's in AR.) Just by looking at my logs and hearing about my engine rebuild, he's been able to diagnose stuff that in-person mechanics have not been able to. For example, Todd was the only person looking at my car to suggest a problem with a BRV could explain some of the weird behavior... following his advice, I dug in myself... lo and behold, torn BRV diaphragm on bank 1! Wow! Further, Todd has the most experience tuning these cars of any tuner I've worked with. Tune is absolutely solid and safe. Very very confident in his work!!! Adam McGregor2023-04-05I don’t think there is a better shop to shop entrust your Porsche to then Protomotive and the Knighton’s. Just search there name with 993 and you can start to get an idea of their storied history of building monster but reliable 911 Turbos! I have over 12 years and 30k miles (street, autox & track) on the Protomotive set up on my 997tt and it has never skipped a beat!
