Looking for 997.1 and Cayman ME7.8.1 Datalogging Instructions?  Here you go!  This will give you the values we’re after to check your tuning.  To get started head over to Durametric.com and download the latest Durametric software and install it.  Then download this XML file and put it aside to preload the below values vs. entering them in every time.  After Duramtric is installed, fire it up and go into actual values.

Select these parameters: (or click RECALL and load in the XML file downloaded above)

  • Engine speed
  • Ignition angle
  • Engine load
  • Injection time
  • Intake-air temperature
  • Actual lambda value bank 1
  • Actual lambda value bank 2
  • Fuel trim mean value
  • Fuel trim mean value
  • Mass air flow (hot-film MAF + tank vent)
  • Fuel trim adaption lower load (FRAU)
  • Fuel trim adaption lower load (FRAU)
  • Fuel trim adaption upper load (FRAO)
  • Fuel trim adaption upper load (FRAO)
  • Actual throttle plate angle
  • Retardation Cylinder 1
  • Retardation Cylinder 6
  • Retardation Cylinder 2
  • Retardation Cylinder 4
  • Retardation Cylinder 3
  • Retardation Cylinder 5

After selecting the parameters click on the options tab and click CLEAR so it’ll start a new datalog with the selected values.

After that, go out and record some idle, drivability and a few 3rd gear 2000->redline runs (kinda like dyno runs, but on the street).

Then, stop and export the log to an *.xls or *.csv file for me to take a look at.

NOTE:  If you click SAVE vs. EXPORT, you’ll save only the above parameters, not actually the log.  So be sure to click on EXPORT!

To SAVE the parameter list above to your own XML file to auto populate the list later, click SAVE and enter a filename.  Then next time you can save time by loading up the parameter list above and not have to search through them.
